I don't know if this is just me, but I have a rule that whenever I see someone reblog ask games, I always send the person who reblogged it an ask. Like, a lot of the time it's a new writer who probably gets zero asks and even if I, personally, don't know much or have an investment in their story or OCs, I know that excitement of getting an ask. I know that feeling where someone is asking you to talk about your story.

You don't feel like you're screaming into the void with nobody listening.

You don't feel like you're begging for attention by posting sporadically about OCs that no one seemingly cares about.

Like, just send a writer an ask. Even if you don't know them. Do it anonymously. You don't have to know them intimately. Just, cheer a writer up.

Writeblr and Worldbuilder!

Heyho folks, The_Archmagos here, but call me Arch! I'm a Singaporean student (He/Him), avid worldbuilder, and shoddy writer!

Recently, thanks to some incredible support and engagement with some of the wonderful Writeblrs here (Looking at you, @lividdreamz !), I've decided to publsh and share a little bit more of my Works here on Tumblr! Decent chance tha actual stuff's gonna be utterly all over the place, release wise, but I wanna have fun!

I'll likely focus a lot more on the broader concepts within "worldbuilding", specifically on my main setting called "The 12 Worlds". Most of my writing will likely focus more on the United Commonwealth, my main faction and the undeniable "Good Guys" of the whole show, with topics being things like Geopolitics and Government Institutions and Systems, Military doctrines, strategy, and technology, and whatever else happens to interest me! I do really enjoy getting to interact with folks, so if you wanna chat on all things Worldbuilding or Writing, I'd be happy to oblige!

i saw a wee writing meme going around (I think it was via @cataclysmic-writer? thank u babe) that said to list/make a graphic of some influences on your current WIP and I am very keen on that idea. 

So, without further ado, the main influences on Unshakeable are as follows:

1. Everything by Eva Ibbotson but especially The Reluctant Heiress (YA book about a supercute music-geek Austrian princess in the 1920s)/ 2. Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton series (about a big goofy British family in the early 1800s)/ 3. Several musicals but primarily Moulin Rouge, The Greatest Showman, and Rent/ 4. My main main, Frankie (Franz Liszt, 19th-century rock star who dated aristocrats exclusively).

FIND THE WORD TAG GAME

I was tagged by @theskeletonprior, @thetruearchmagos, and @toribookworm22 for this fun little tag game and even though it’s kind of late (sorry Harrow), I thought I’d get on it!

My words were scarlet, daylight, twist, hope, and until, as well as broken, lore, suffocate, greatly, and justice. To note, these are going to be from multiple wips. I’ll make sure to note them all below. Without further ado, let’s get started!

Scarlet (An Empire)

The king was a slight thing in scarlet silks with a snake’s smile.

Daylight (All That Was Sacred)

The sun was rising when Angel woke up, filling the small cramped hotel room with its light. A stranger slept beside him, the dewy sheets tangled around his bare, white legs stippled with hairs. The hairs were blonde and caught in the daylight, like honey, lit from within. There was a nightstand beside the bed, of black wood, with a table lamp on it, and a leafy fold of banknotes pinned beneath its base.

Twist (The Year of the Witch)

As David reached out to pinch her cheek, or stroke it, she flinched away from and his touch and those fingers that looked so much cocktail sausages topped with broad, square nails he kept clipped short. His smile fell and twisted, like a napkin wrung out by a nervous hand, until it became a scowl.

Hope (What About Angels?)

I remember Ma giving me your clothes, this shirt, those pants, hand-me-downs, she called them. You’ll grow into it, she said to me, pressing your letterman jacket jacket over my length. What she meant was, You’ll grow into him. What she meant was, I hope you become more than his shadow. After all these years, I’m still afraid to step out into the sun. To step into your light. Why? The sun was born to spill its yolk across your skin, not mine.

Until (When We Were Eternal)

His father is a mirror, he decides. A body and a reflection. The father who swung him around on his back until he laughed. The father who spooned him lies that went smooth down his throat, like honey. But. Which is the body? Which is the reflection? His father’s eyes are empty in every photo.

Broken (When We Were Eternal)

The envelope is unmarked, but the broken wax seal is familiar—sickle moon with four stars. Larza shakes the envelope into his open palm, where we qejikel begin to fall out like blackgold bullets.

Great(ly) (A Sharp and Wicked Line)

Cory touches the toddler’s head as lightly as he can manage, yet Shay still flinches when he does. The flinch doesn’t bother him, it never did, even when they were younger. The look in her eyes does, though. You are capable of great violence, it says. You, you.

Suffocate (When We Were Eternal)

He suffocates in the silence.

omg 59 notifications would stress me out

In response to this post.

I have terrible great news for ya buddy! 59 notifications are actually rather low for me.

Of course, it varies based on my activity and the types of posts I'm making — sometimes, especially recently I've been lucky to get 20 since I've been a bit absent — but usually my notifications are stuck at 99+.

I think my record was this post getting 30k notes overnight.

That was both thrilling and extremely stressful. I woke up so confused.

I. Honestly wasn't anticipating to get tagged when I have done a terrible job of even putting something as simple as an intro. But thank you @lividdreamz for considering tagging me. I apologize it took me a few days to respond, work and all.

Favourite Colour: Never ask me what my favorite color is because I like too many. Blue? Orange? Yellow? Red?

Currently Reading: I carry a PDF of White Oleander because it's something I like to read over and over, especially when I am bored at work. I have been reading the first book of Marissa Meyers' Renegade Trilogy time to time.

Last Song: Seize the Power by YONAKA, which had kind of part of something I am trying to write. Or at least, I hope to incorporate! At the very least, it's inspiring a new character.

Last Series: I don't really watch a lot of series. I watch kind of crime shows? In Pursuit With John Walsh count?

Last Movie: I rewatched The Book of Life recently!

Sweet/Savoury/Spicy: I think it depends on the food; I tend to like a lot of stuff. I have a hell of a sweet tooth at times.

Currently Working On: (The real question is what I am not trying to work on anymore.) The thing I am working on is my "Halos and Poppies WIP", and kind of outlining what the hell I want for it.

Thinking up a new sorta Worldbuilding-game thing, curious what my most dear mutuals think of it. In short, I'd challenge you folks to come up with *just the title* of an article, 'paper', or other text written within your setting, be it from the perspective a named character or some rando, which covers a major subject or topic that the people and societies of your Setting hold dear or view as important. Pending a name, but I'd like some feedback from you all.

Hello, hello! I just wanted to shoot everybody who’s interacted with my recent cry for help ‘looking for writeblrs’ post a big thanks! All of you seem like sweet (and so very cool) people, and not to mention your WIPs are rocking! I can’t wait to sink my teeth into them. Whatever the genre, I know it’s going to be good content!

When you've written in too many notebooks and all the stories are somewhat related but were written in different times of the general plot, but were never dated to make sense and you are now found being surrounded by notebooks in various colors and you THINK you have found the next notebook?

and yet as you read some of the stories you find yourself as confused as ever because you remember writing it but you don't remember WHEN you wrote it and for when in the plot you designated the story.
